bandages could fix everything and an apple a day kept me healthy. As I got older, I realized that not every cut could be fixed with a Bandaid and I still got sick no matter how much fruit I ate. This idea fuels Apples & Bandaids to reach out to a hurting and starved world. I might not be able to eliminate hunger or cure every disease, but I can provide the tools to help make a difference. As I look at an increasingly corrupted world, I cannot help but reach out. With every pandemic and catastrophe, there is an opportunity for good. While attending a weekly community group, I discovered a recurring theme in my conversations. Friends were continually seeking ways to give back, to change the word, and to make the world a better place. I realized then how to connect what people wore with how they lived their lives. Clothing driven by compassion and action; this was the jumping point for Apples & Bandaids. A&B is a clothing company that puts aside the bottom line in order to put people first. By partnering with Empowering Lives, a nonprofit agency that provides food, medical supplies, and education for third-world villages, A&B helps make a tangible difference by directly donating 50% of every sale to this organization. By wearing a shirt from Apples & Bandaids, you are not only supporting a great clothing company, you are supporting a person’s life. The idea is to meld fashion with our values and although we cannot avoid the consumer-driven culture we live in, we can change the focus and make it more meaningful. So let’s step up and change this crazy world together! Matt Clevenger
