I was born in San Francisco while my dad was in dental school. I was raised in a solid family growing up with one younger brother who is a all star kid. I dont think I would be the person I am today with out my family. I have lived in many different towns from San Fransico to Seattle. Santa Cruz has been my home town for about 10 years now and I'm loving every day of this small beach community. I went to Cabrillo College, changing my major a few times from culinary arts to special education. I just felt like I could never find my place in what I wanted to do but there was something about becoming a special ed teacher that has been on my heart for such a long time and will always be there. School was not really my thing.. struggled a lot through school but kept pushing on.
Adoni started with a few guys that were just goofing around on a computer with a vision to spread the love that we have in our hearts to others using our clothing as an outlet. People ask me all the time, "What makes Adoni different from the millions of clothing companies that are out there?" For the longest time I really didn't know how to respond to that question; but as time went on, I matured as a person and grew a lot. Adoni is different in so many ways. Yes we are a small clothing company from Santa Cruz, but if you meet any of the guys or girls that are involved with this company, you can see their hearts and their passions in what we do. I really try to strive to be a good person and work with our designers to create amazing art and screen print our shirts with love and quality. We are not here to make a million dollars (even though that would be amazing!). We are a group of people with a vision that would love to see come true some day. It takes time, but if you really put your heart to something and find people with the same passion and dreams in this world, anything is possible. That is what I have learned from this clothing company. We have done a few really cool events working with Love 146 which is a non-profit organization that raises money to build safe homes for children rescued from the sex slave trade. It has been really cool designing a few shirts for them and raising some money. We also sponsor the cutest boy from Uganda through Compassion International. $30 a month you can sponsor a child and change his or her life and their village. I love getting letters from him, so thankful that I can sponsor him; and he prays for me every day. I sent him some extra money one month for him to buy a few personal things.. He wrote back saying that he had bought a pig and a dress shirt for him to wear to church. How amazing is that?! I think everyone needs to be helping someone out. It is so rewarding. God is good! I can tell you so many amazing stories of how he has worked in my life even if you don't believe in God or Christ that is okay. I think there is a lot of non-Christians who have such a distorted view on who and what a Christian is all about. Adoni has been such an amazing experience and I am stoked to see where this company takes us! I would love for you to be a part of what we are all about. So send us an e-mail or a message on Myspace or Facebook!![]() |
